On a side note:
EA has not said one word yay or nay about this - confirming or not confirming prior to release as well as if there will be a patch when they put conquest (capture the flag) into the game.

If enough people complain they will fix it.

they need to also increase the squad size

they need to also increase the squad size

or just do away with the squads and keep only the teams. They should also add and option of choosing who you want to talk to in your team whether it is everyone or just the squad you joined with.

The weird thing is...everything about this game is different from the PC with relation to comms, squads and clans.

Why wreck a good thing? They were innovative, and this series seems to have taken a step back with regards to that.

The game however, is awesome, I'm really enjoying playing it.

Yep, I'm thinking a lot of it has to do with the limited number of buttons on the 360 controller. Still, that's no excuse.

yep

I hates it that we can't put together a squad of 12 on our own and have the game fill in where we're short, and watching yesterday you saw people playing without the game objectiuve in mind and there is nothing you can do to tell them, hey go disarm the bomb

Yea...as a defender watching your asshole team mates run away from the blinking triangle started to get really infuriating.

The smartest thing we did as an attacker was to grab the tanks and go Rambo on the gold crates.

However, I jumped on about 20 minutes after we quit the first time and the team I was on was very receptive to what was happening in the game.

It really was a lot of fun when your team understands and knows the objective.

I just don'ty understand what they were thinking about not being able to communicate with everyone on your team. it is a huge map, objective based game, where teamwork is imperative, but you can only talk to 3 of 12 players, good, luck

Big fuckup when the whole game is supposed to be about teamwork.

From reading up on it...the theory was too much distracting chatter.

They put in game sighting to balance that out.

It's bullshit...I would like to see in the least a proximity chat or squads of 6 with the two squad leaders being able to communicate to one another.

The D pad isn't even used in this game for Christ sakes.

Seriously... just have up on the D pad be your squad, left be another, right be another, and down be all....

you are in constant coms with your squad and you have to hold down the button to talk to other squads or all....

Dirty Wizard

it was a huge mistake and ruins the objective part of the game to some degree, when you have 3 independent squads acting independently

imagine two squads of 6, and when attacking you are able to really coordinate awesomely, such a huge mistake

almost unforgiveable, and needs to be fixed

Honestly, I wouldn't even care if you could pair up squads and we rolled 2 squads deep.

me either, but to have 3 squads of 4 acting independently of one another in trying to obtain the same goal is rather worthless and is self defeating.

it is one of the very few bones of contention I have with the game.

ETA:

I wish you could do private matches in bf:bc

Acoustic-Fury

The Official EA forums still have not been explained why: clan support, private rooms, bigger squads, choice of who you spawn on and a better in game communication system had been put into place.

However...there has been some communication on the EA England forums:
http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlefield-bad-company/321700-multiplayer-experience-full-game.html

The gist is, Goodman (who is an EA Manager) says he cannot confirm nor deny at this time if these functions will be added to this game (via a patch at a later date). Although...the feedback will be presented to those that need to know for a decision to be made.

However, the amount of feedback has been insane regarding the above points - and for EA/Dice not to address them would be suicide.

All of the reviews have been coming back as 8s or 9s out of 10...so from a single player game stand point it's kicking ass but none of the reviewers I have read have made mention about the multiplayer and from what the community is crying out...is that the multiplayer needs work.

They will change it through an update. COD went through similar problems an after a lot of bitching from fans they gave us mute button and fixed sniping.

They really need to fix the connection issue. It's ridiculous when it takes over an hour of trying to get into a game with your squad fully intact.

I'm going to give them through the first patch to fix the squad connection issues AND the Communication issues, if they don't I'm going to return the game and get COD4

Your feedback matters
7/1/2008
We are very aware of the different issues you have told us you find most important.

We are happy to see that so many of you are playing Battlefield: Bad Company and having so much fun. The level of community interest in this game and its features is really visible, also through the amount of feedback various members of the development team have been receiving through their Live accounts, Facebook, emails, phone calls, faxes (People still use those??) on our forums and all the other channels out there.

Our Bad Company developers have been working a lot in the last two years and, we have managed to produce a game that we are very proud of. Even with the game already in stores, we would like to let you know that we are reading and listening to all of your feedback.

Right now the team is working on creating the Conquest game mode for Battlefield: Bad Company together with the conversion of the maps to go with it. The Conquest Pack is currently going through testing and certification.

We are very aware of the different issues you have told us you find most important. Therefore as soon as we’re done with the above there are several other points of your feedback which we’ll continue to investigate, without currently being able to say with certainty whether or not we will be able to include them. These include, but are not limited to:

* Clan support/private rooms/team chat
* Auto balancing on servers
* Continued support against stats exploits
* VOIP issue on PS3 (working with Sony on this)
* Squads might be split up when joining a server as a squad. This is due to team balancing in the games that are being joined, and usually resolves itself in round 2.

nice, so basically when you join the team as a squad just wait until round 2; however, this is such an obvious issue that could easily fixed with a simple check on their part. really shouldn't have ever gotten out.

Same shit COD went through with it's release. They will patch everything up and and some stuff and we will be good. If the Conquest mode and new maps are already in certification that means its coming probably with-in a month or two
