11. James Hardy. the bills most pressing need is a wr2, we all want a big guy who can tachteh ball and run after the catch. This is high according to some but the bilsl are true to their draft board above anything else. Examples, int eh last two years, whitner, and lynch. However a trade down including lito sheppard at 19 would be ideal for buffalo and still allow them to grab hardy, thomas, or sweed. I'm nto high on thomas or sweed, not as high. but thomas/sweed and sheppard mitigates losing out on james hardy.
With this pick of a wr2 there are no real NEEDS left so the bills draft is left to find the best possible players they can
41. kenny phillips -s-Miami-he seems to be sliding for some reason and I think the bills would be thrilled to land such an incredible prospect, arguablyt he top S in this class at 41. Phillips, a junior, has the physical tools to be drafted high in the first round. He is the uncommon safety prospect who is equally adept in pass coverage and in run support. He will start early in his NFL career and make a ton of impact plays. 6-2 212 4.49 40 would look exceptional next to whitner. I'm nto sold on ko, and I think adding talent like this can't ever hurt. though if phillips were gone. My pick would eb tracy porter, a corner also from Indiana, not a tall corner like you'd hope for 5-9 3/4 but has incredible speed(4.29 at his pro day) and is an exceptional athlete who needs seasoning, think a shorts chris gamble but a better man cover guy.
72. brad cottam TE Tenn-I absolutely love this kid as a te, however he has a history of injuries and would certainly be a bit of a gamble but athletically he is probably the most gifted te in this class. he has incredible size speed ratio standing 6-7.5 269, and ran a 4.63 passing on him I'd hope for dustin keller from prurdue, 4.55 speed great hands no blocking but he is a pure catch first te.
114. J Leman-ILB-Ill. Picture a slower, bigger smarter more football oriented john digorgio. ran slow but plays as fast as I have seen in years. soemhow, he is always around the ball behind, at or well past the line of scrimmage. This kids shits pisses, eats, and breathes football.
132. owen schmitt-fb-WVU. This kid is also nothing but football all the time and will eb the sam gash type fb that DR needs to get to the pro bowl and beyond. DR follow schmitt and you'll go places.
147. Brian Johnston-DE-Gardner-webb. Lacks elite speed ran a 4.9 at his pro day but is a legit 6-4 275 pound de, and two time Big South defensive player of the year. Absolutely dominated in the hula bowl getting 6 tackles, 2 sacks and forcing a fumble. really probably better as a 6th rounder but no point in really worrying about value this late in the draft.
179. Cody Wallace C TAMU-he's a stop gap measure and back up hopefully if necessary he can learn to harness his incredibly athleticism and become the player team expected, was awful at the senior bowl. I only made this pick because I thought steve slaton here would drive people nuts and you do need to add some ot in hopes of getting viable back up players.
224. Kirk Barton t/G OSU- big tough mean SOB lack of perceived athleticism projects him as a guard. he is certainly a guy that can come in and challenge for a back up spot right away.
251. I dont' care
