A few of us have a man crush on James Hardy. What do you feel he needs to work on most at the next level to be successful? What do you think about his route running? I've heard people on this board criticize it but from the couple games I've watched of his he seems to run crisp routes.

Hardy is an intriguing prospect for the most part. As you know he was listed at 6'7 in his media guide but he is actually only 6'5 (he is also like 3/8 inches but I dont include that) so he is shorter than advertised he also is extremely raw in my opinion. He needs to work on his focus on the field. I saw him numerous times lose interest when the ball wasnt coming his way. He would run sloppy routes and be off timing wise. His blocking leaves a lot to be desired and his off field problems are a concerned (I dont care what Chris Brown says about that). However what Hardy possesses is a rare blend of size, speed, and athletic ability. When he is on his game he is almost impossible to cover. He needs to get stronger and be more physical as he got intimidated by the bigger and stronger Big 10 CB's but that can come with time and coaching. Overall I see Hardy as an ideal choice for Buffalo in Round 2. If his head is in the right place he could be #1 WR in this league, if its not he'll fall by the way side.

Ya, I don't think there is a legit #1 WR in this draft, plus there have been so many WR busts in the past. I'm a little skeptical on taking a WR in round 1. I don't know what they are going to do, but I don't think trading down is out of the question. A CB would be nice here too. But the Bills need at WR is HUGE. It will be a tough pick, that's for sure.

I don't know what they are going to do, but I don't think trading down is out of the question. A CB would be nice here too. But the Bills need at WR is HUGE. I watched a lot of IU football this year and I have to say that I didn't see him run sloppy routes at all. He did have trouble with jack ikegowonu(sp?) god damned african last names! However, I thought he ran decent routes and got really nice separation from corners.

but I'm also pro-hardy and tend to think him behind doucet is a bit of a stretch.

Well I dont know that Id go that far Limas Sweed is probably as close as you're going to get as far as sure fire #1's go but his wrist still is not healed by all reports that Ive seen. If that can get back to 100% he is probably the top WR in this class.

Personally though I think we should be taking DRC at #11.
