Classic Series: 1993 BUF vs. BOS

Just FYI, NHL Network is airing as part of their 'Classic Series' vignettes one episode devoted to the 1993 Adams Division series marked by the Sabre sweep and infamous 'May Day' goal on Monday, Sept. 7th & again on Tuesday, Sept. 8th. Along with the result and May's highlight, the series was memorable for:

- Mogilny scoring 5 goals in 4 games
- Fuhr playing brilliantly
- Sabres rallying from 5-2 deficit in Game 4 to tie and win in OT, led by Hasek subbing for injured Fuhr
- The good ol' LaFontaine days

I still say that being at that May Day game in the front row of the oranges with my wife was probably one of the coolest things (not just sporting events) I've ever witnessed in my life. Awesome insight by me to run out of the house immediately after game 2 and drive to Record Theatre and purchase game 4 tickets because I KNEW we were going to sweep them.

I'm gonna give myself a for that.

Oh yeah, that view of May scoring was exactly the view I had. The entire game was amazing and I knew when we scored to make it 5-3 that we as a crowd were going to will the Sabres to a comeback victory. When Khymelev scored to tie it, the place went berzerk. I never heard a louder crowd then the crowd that entire 3rd period. The OT was crazy/scrary/awesome/loud as hell. And then came the May goal. You could see the net just open up as Moog went down and you could feel the anticipation at that moment as you knew May was about to score the series clinching goal. Right when May faked the slap shot to put Moog down, EVERYONE got up out of their seats cuz they knew what was about to happen. What a feeling ! Oh man, I went FUCKING NUTS ! Then it was REALLY cool when people started launching their brooms onto the ice. We could see people in front of the glass getting nailed by brooms that didn't make it over.

I agree. Being there was awesome. I was able to get tickets that afternoon. About the 3rd row oranges.
