Pominville to play for US in World Championships

This is a huge get for America, and it probably means Pominville, a dual citizen, will skate for the US in the 2010 Olympics. I'd love to get a Poms US jersey.

Several Sabres will represent their countries in next month's Hockey World Championship

Jason Pominville and Paul Gaustad will skate for the U.S. Goalie Ryan Miller hasn't decided yet if he'll play. Derek Roy will play for team Canada.

Jochen Hecht declined to play for Germany. Hecht will have surgery performed on his left wrist. Hecht says that he's been playing injured since January. Kotalik will play for the Czech Republic. Thomas Vanek will play in Pool 'B' for Austria.

Henrik Tallinder said "No" to Sweden. Tallinder has hasn't had a chance to properly train for 2 off seasons and wants to go into next year prepared. Numminen (Finland) and Max Afinogenov (Russia) have not yet decided if they'll play in the tournament.

Well, if he wants to play in the Olympics, he has to play for USA. If you're a dual citizen, once you pick a country for international play, thats it.
