My god does it ever make watching Hockey better when you don't have two knuckleheads in the booth. From the presentation to the announcing, it was 100 times better than that crap VS puts on. Sad that we're stuck with these clowns for even longer.

CBC is by far the best, and sometimes you even get crazy don cherry.

CBC is definitely better, but Versus doesn't even have their top crews doing these games.
Emrick is still doing New Jersey for their local affiliate, as is Joe Beninati. Jack Edwards has been doing Versus games lately as well, but he's still working for NESN with the Bruins.
Guys like Strader (Phoenix), Peckham (Tampa Bay), and Forslund (Carolina) are getting all the Versus gigs because their teams are already out. The same goes for Darren Eliot (though I really don't mind him either)
CBC has done it right forever. Us in WNY are blessed to have it right on basic cable.
CBC's Jim Hughson is the best play-by-play man in the business, and his partner, Craig Simpson, is the top analyst. Hughson and Simpson haven't been paired together in the opening round, but they will be soon.:craig:
That network, when it comes to hockey coverage, simply can't be touched.
(bf19, I think Strader is very good. I have an inkling he'll replace RJ, too.)

With a driiiiiiiiiiive!
Latendresse slides it over to Ryder, Ryder back to Kovalev, canceled.

I wish they could broadcast CBC in WNY. I watch it once in a while on Sopcast. It's much better than any national US coverage.
You're right. Strader is good. My point was all the halfway decent Versus guys (except Strader) are still doing games for their actual teams. Versus isn't that bad, actually. We in Buffalo are just spoiled.
If you actually saw the budget that Versus is given to work with on this, you'd understand why it's so "bad".
CBC :wank:
CBC's hockey broadcasts are the standard that all others should try to attain.
With the game announcing crew that Versus has no wonder that the NHL has trouble "selling" the game of hockey in the US market.
