I have no idea how old this quote is, but on "The Enforcers," which is a show hosted by Rob Ray and Matt Barnaby, the latter pointed it out while the two were discussing Mair in the latest episode. I find it fitting in the sense that I've been a big Mair fan for a while now because of the combination of things he brings to the team, such as toughness and leadership, and was very happy to see him sign a three-year deal last summer.

Props to Mairsy; when the greatest ever is a fan, you're doing something right.

-Another interesting part of the show was Barnaby's view of Andrew Peters. I'm paraphrasing, but it was something along the lines of "Peters is a good guy, but he doesn't instill any fear into other teams, which is what good enforcers like Derek Boogard do.''

Barnaby won and lost his share of fights; for a low-line guy, he also contributed pretty well offensively.

I've never seen a "fan" care more for one useless player over the team than RTG. He'll always try to nit pick whatever Kaleta,Ryan or whomever takes Peters spot, it's very sad. He'll also try to mock guys like Barnaby and other Sabres pests/toughguys(Mair,Barnaby...) like Peters is actually better than them, got news for ya, he's not. He'll most likely never suit up here again, thank god.
