Thread: Feedback results

Thank you all for contributing to the feedback request we put out two weeks ago. We have gone over the suggestions at length and have made changes where we could immediately do so.

Please see below for your suggestions and what we could do:

1. Chatbox - is there a new chatbox available?
   Vbulletin 4.0 is relatively new so there are not that many chatboxes that we've seen that were amazing. Our host doesn't approve use of 3rd party applications - and they can be a drain on our resources (which is usually why we get data base errors 90% of the time). This is why we have to keep the bells and whistles off of them, and keep them compact. We are working on coming up with new ways to chat and we'll keep you posted as to the things that we find.
   
   
2. Chatbox idle
   This was extended from 5 minutes to 2 hours. We've also extended the archive from 8 hours to 12 hours.
   
   
3. Background image
   Trey is working on this currently.
   
   
4. Possibly having new threads or "hot" thread appear at the top for easy viewing.
   dasaybz found a hack that organizes posts - top left underneath the banner.
   
   
   
5. Can we have a chatbox visible to guests to show that we have a chat box?
   We would like to show of the chatbox to guests - but that sucks up resources and we want that to go to our members. So for right now, it's mentioned in the description that is viewable to guests (or to you before login).
   
   
   
6. Search function is not good.
   We believe it is a little squirrely as well but since vbulletin 4.0 is new - they don't have much to offer as of yet. When a mod or hack becomes available - we'll look into installing it.
   
   
   
7. Streamline the forums more:
   • Merge Buffalo Bills and Sabres
   • Merge Wide Right and Tim Russert
   We are going to keep them as is for right now and will watch traffic. In the event that it goes months without anyone posting in there - we'll look into combining.
   
   
   
8. Implement an "ignore thread" button
   Again, vbulletin 4.0 is rather new - and we will continue to look out for modifications to make functions smoother and give us an original "edge" to the forums.

On a side note, we will be extending our relationship with our host server as of this Thursday (tomorrow)! Another year of TBS!
