He used a heat gun to softer the solders on both sides. We waited a bit, and he then took 2 wires, red and black put them together and connected them so that the fan would be cooler. Lastly, he replaced the x-clamps which are the main reason for the RROD with other ones, and now the bob is back!

Hey RRODr. Do you do any modding or anything like that? I'm using a functional Xbox to play games on XBL, but have one with a no video error that I wouldn't mind get working again. I'm thinking I might get a modchip/maybe some casemodding as well for that box.
