No. Ruff said flat out that he scratched him. I'm one to think that you're not as far off the deep end as some people. In fact, I find some of your criticisms of Ruff to be legitmate, but this one is a straight up reach. Stafford has been purely awful and he was scratched for it. I was going to say after yesterday's game that maybe the same thing might do Tim Connolly some good, but then he got 3 points, including a game-winner and an insurance goal.
What's the matter, piggy? Lindy Ruff doing too many things right for you this season? Awwwww....Poor piggy wiggy. He doesn't even know what to respond with anymore.

Well, Stafford was the best player on the ice tonight. 2 goals, and a great play to set-up the game-tying goal. Just another example of Lindy completely mishandling a player, right Pigpen?

Nobody listens to Lindy Ruff. The players tune him out.

If only the Sabres had Bylsma to show them how to piss away a 3 goal lead with two of the best players in the world against the backup goalie.

Honestly, I don't think the past had anything to do with why Stafford was selected. Given who was out there, Stafford was a no-brainer to take that penalty shot. Just like no matter how lazy Kotalik was on a given night last year, he was still almost always in the shootout. He always is/was good on breakaways. That's why I was never too keen on "rewarding" hard work with a shootout attempt. If a guy in my lineup is really good on breakaways, I'm having him take the penalty shot/shootout attempt regardless of how he's been playing. Going in one on one with a goaltender is a completely different world.
That said, I'm sure it did a world of good for Stafford's confidence.
Want to know what last night was, piggywiggywoo? Ruff giving Bylsma a fucking coaching clinic.
*He pushed the right buttons with Stafford. 3 point night? Just admit it.
*Choosing Stafford for the penalty shot was obviously the right decision. He could have used Mac, who is 1 for 1 on penalty shots this season.
*Pulling the best goaltender in the league after he allowed 3 goals was obviously the right move. The team responded. Lalime played great, but he didn't score 4 unanswered goals.
*The star-studded Pens powerplay fell to dead last in the league after last night. Hell of a coach, that Bylsma.
*Pominville's game winner? Powerplay goal. Think the Pens would have liked to have one of those?
One more observation: You'd rather the Sabres lose so that you can be right than see the Sabres win and have yourself be wrong. You're a shitty fan, pigpen. Think about rooting for a different team. Seriously.
