awesome.
Pulling that thug vote...
The nice thing is, at least he's pulling the petty criminals rather than the Ken Lays, Jack Abramoffs, and Scooter Libbys of the world.

CARDIGAN BURGERS!!!
I'm just wondering when Obama is actually going to do something to make my every day life different/better than it was when the last clown was in office.
Right now, nothing has changed the slightest bit. I know it's only been a few months, but from how bad things were, and all the changes that needed to be made apparently, you'd think I'd notice something.
LALALALALALAFONTAINE (05-27-2009)
The only change is that the same mistakes that W made are being made to a much larger magnitude.
Why?
Sarcasm is an effective way to make a point. I thought it was fitting in this case.
Back when Dubya was President, if you criticized him or his policies you got branded as some limp-wristed, commie-pinko American hating Traitor.
Now the Right gets to call Obama a secret muslim socialist terrorist god knows what else, and Rush Limbaugh goes on the air and openly roots for his administration to fail, and they aren't met with half the furor that somebody who spoke out against Bush used to get.
Jiggle Billy (05-29-2009)
That's what makes the Right Wing uproar over Obama so fucking hilarious. From the bailout to his foreign policy to his continued incursions on civil rights and the rule of law, Obama has behaved a lot like Bush. Of course, when Dubya did it, he was a Warrior and a Strong Leader, and the Fox News crowd fluffed him to within an inch of his life. When Obama did it, he's a dangerous socialist Jihadi mole and the Right wing is apoplectic to the point where they're talking secession.
The left wing double standard is funny as well. I have friends who got themselves arrested protesting against Bush/Cheney, who now will get viciously angry at me when I dare bitch about Black Jesus pulling the same draconian bullshit, or worse (preventive detention.)
LALALALALALAFONTAINE (05-27-2009)
Rachel Maddow did a nice job on the preventative detention. One can only hope is what is left is that the GOP hypocrites and Democrat hypocrites render themselves irrelevant with their hypocrisy and that real solutions can be undertaken.
Two things.
1. No shit there are criminal people of any given political orientation. I listed a couple examples of Republican criminals to balance things out - just in case the point was lost on anyone who thought the original post in this thread was anything other than humor. Even if that wasn't trey's intention.
2. I do find it funny you would equate the people you listed above as somehow being on moral and criminal par with truly evil shit that Lay, Abramoff, and Libby did.
Geithner, Daschle, and Killefer botched self-employed taxes, tax related "donations", and payroll taxes respectively. Richardson got in trouble for a pay-to-play scandal due to meeting with the son of a friend on a gov't contract.
And that's not to equivocate on behalf of your Democratic examples. You're totally right to rip on them. Clearly they pulled some illegal, awful shit as well.
But how you can so mindlessly equate 4 people who haven't been imprisoned for anything with 3 convicted felons shows off some impressively warped values on your part.
Or maybe I'm splitting hairs.

Which one of these will join Obamas' new position created of prison czar?

Double standard, pal.
Imprisonment is not a guage here.
By the way, I'm not a Republican. You seem to think I am. I used to be, when they actually stood for something.
But it's funny how you didn't defend the domestic terrorist that Obama calls his friend. Why's that? A member of the Weather Underground is just slightly too extreme for ya?
