Wrong. It sends out a mass email to everyone you ever emailed and have stored in your contact list (I constantly add people's email). I've had this particular email account since 2000. So I had 8 years worth of contacts that I mass emailed asking for a Facebook invite.
These were business associates I emailed when I wasn't at work, ex girlfriends, acquaintances, long distance family members.
I figured it out when I started getting emails from people I hadn't had communication with in years saying they weren't interested in being my facebook friend.
Horrified, I did the walk of shame sending out another mass email and explained that I didn't realize I had facebook friend requested my entire contact list.
heh...I got many replies telling me I was full of shit.
To this day (it's been almost a year) I still get a friend add on here and there from someone that I have no idea who they are. Idiot.
