What's he standing up against again? He's made millions off of regurgitated rock guitar riffs written in the 60's, such as the song '5 to 1' by the Doors.

Nothing wrong with sampling. It's been in hip-hop since it started. He's standing up against all these new wanna be thugs creating stupid hooks like "do tha stanky leg" at an attempt to make money. He also admits to partaking in the dumb fad or crystal and chain wearing that has become so cliche now an now is attempting to bring back hip-hops roots. He also slams how when you make a song how the only way you can get it to be successful now a days is to have someone else rap over it, have t-payne sing on it or have a "gangsta" friend on it.Originally Posted by Thumper

The first time I heard T-Pain, I was like, when the fuck did rappers start wanting to sound like Cher?
And look, I don't get rap in general.
So I'm out of the loop here.
But I do know that rap isn't supposed to sound like fucking Cher.

Just to let everybody know, all rap music sucks.
Jay-Z's made some fantastic songs (though none since the Black Album), but he's also one of the biggest douchebags I have ever seen in my entire life.

T-Pain is from Tallahassee, where I hailed from for three years.
Also, a good buddy of mine let me know about T-Pain because his little brother, Torrey McKenzie, was in T-Pain's video.
You may know him better as Midget Mac from "I Love New York" if you watch reality TV.
Which I don't.
Midget Mac's a good dude. Too bad he was being exploited on that "I Love New York" show. I hate seeing little people get blatantly embarrassed on TV shows; they're always treated like circus animals or something.

There's some great stuff out there, it's just not usually the things you hear on the radio/MTV.
If you judged rock music based on the mainstream swill those outlets played, you'd think it all sucked too.

Yeah man, even though I don't watch reality TV anyway, I felt obliged not to watch I Love New York for the same reasons you mentioned.
Although I am glad he got paid for it.
And he gets a lot of love in Jacksonville; where he's a minor celebrity.

There is a good white rapper from Buffalo named Doe Boy aka ooDoe he pretty fucking good.
